Responsibilities:
Part-time position (25 – 30 hr/wk) person needed for preparation of biological samples of microscopic analysis using paraffin, cryo and/ or resin fixation, embedding and sectioning techniques. Will perform special staining and protocol design as well as routine maintenance on histology equipment. Further training on various microscopes and other instruments will be included based on workload and interest.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma (or GED).

Completion of a high school biological science course. Applicant should be familiar with basic lab techniques. Excellent oral and written communication skills, customer service skills and an ability to work independently are a must.

Preferred Qualifications:
One year of histology laboratory or related laboratory experience highly desired. BA/BS degree in one of the biological sciences, physics or chemistry is preferred.

Experience/Knowledge of preparatory methods for light and/or electron microscopy, experience with specimen fixation, embedding, sectioning and staining techniques are also desired.

Work Hours:
Flexible part-time hours, 25 – 30 hours/week.
