Department OFC ACADEMIC SUPP & DIVERSITY (BL-OASD-IUBLA) African American Arts Institute (AAAI) a part of the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Multicultural Affairs Events and Marketing Assistant contributes to the planning, promotion, implementation, and evaluation of AAAI events and marketing activities, most of which are centered on its performance ensembles—African American Choral Ensemble, African American Dance Company, and IU Soul Revue—which are courses in the Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies. This position resides in the AAAI’s Marketing and Communications office, and reports to the Events and Communications Specialist. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Minimum Education: One year of undergraduate study in arts management, advertising, marketing, or related fields. Minimum Experience: One year serving in a marketing or group leadership role, preferably in the performing arts. Required knowledge, skills and abilities: The Events and Marketing Assistant must: Bloomington, Indiana $12.75 per hour 10 to 15 hours per week. Must schedule a minimum of 10 hours per week to work in office; office hours must be scheduled with the permission of Events and Communications Specialist. Must comply with Indiana University’s Temporary Employee Policy regarding 29-58-116 hour rule: a maximum of no more than 29 hours per week of work across all positions of employment held with Indiana University.
