Purpose

Responsible for the safe operation of winders, folder/stackers. Including packaging finished goods, making quality checks and handling scrap product. Assists with scrap reduction, housekeeping, and maintaining quality standards; observes all safety rules and conducts assigned duties in a safe manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to the Senior Operator.
  • Ensures a quality product through regular quality checks by reading and verifying line orders and spec sheets.
  • Conducts regular product quality checks as required. Reports any out of spec products to the Senior Operator immediately.
  • Contributes to the smooth operation of their section, by partnering with the Senior Operators and Lead Packers to ensure safety, quality, production, and housekeeping meet or exceed world class standards.
  • Properly packages finished goods to include correct use of labels, chips, sleeves, twist ties, pallet patterns and code stamps.
  • Responsible for proper packaging of all finished goods to achieve the best cosmetic presentation possible.
  • Responsible for verifying and executing pallet patterns.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards. May be assigned additional housekeeping responsibilities throughout the plant as needed to maintain a clean and orderly work space.
  • Assigned to multiple winders, bag machines, etc. based on bag count and line speed, as deemed necessary by management.
