Get to Know This Role The Packaging Operator Technician 1 operates, cleans, inspects, lubricates, changes over and performs minor maintenance tasks on packaging equipment. Reporting to the Packaging Supervisor, this role is responsible for working effectively to meet production demands while maintaining a safe work environment and producing a quality product.
What You Will Do - Operates dry side equipment on a high-speed bottling, canning, racking, and repack lines; follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) and completes documentation via check sheets
- Performs routine inspections, basic troubleshooting, minor adjustments, light-duty maintenance of equipment; assists maintenance personnel with other repairs and preventative maintenance (PMs) when needed
- Cleans production areas, equipment, work areas, or other parts of the facility to maintain plant food sanitation standards
- Operates industrial equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts in order to unload, load, and/or transport packaging materials, raw materials and finished product
- Conducts process quality control checks
- Communicates packaging related information to other teams effectively
- Assists in the keg prep area by sorting, completing valve rebuilding, and loading of kegs
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
Please Apply if You Have
- Previous experience in a consumer-packaged goods manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams
- Ability to take ownership and initiative to perform tasks beyond assignment-specific duties
- Understanding of how to use basic hand tools (Allen wrenches, screw drivers, sockets/wrenches, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and eye for package quality
- Ability to learn on-the-job
- Forklift Certification upon hire preferred
- Forklift Certification within 180 Days required
Additional Requirements to Consider Before Applying - You must be at least 18 years of age to work for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co.
- Selected candidate must pass a pre-employment, post offer background check.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts (3:45 AM and 12:15 PM start times). Shifts rotate after 2 months.
