Packaging Lead

Job Summary:
The Packaging Lead will oversee the Packaging department Packaging Technicians to ensure all compliance regulations and requirements are met while also identifying areas of improvement. This individual will also provide coaching and mentoring to the Packaging team while working with other cross functional departments to promote behaviors and processes that meet RWB's mission of normalizing and professionalizing the cannabis industry.
Accountabilities:
- Responsible for day-to-day operations and performance of the packaging department in accordance with standard operating procedures, while also identifying areas of improvement
- Create an environment of team engagement and provide supervision and mentorship to the packaging team members.
- Collaborate with Inventory Control Specialist to manage inventory of bulk and prepackaged products.
- Set up appropriate inventory levels, ensure proper quantity of packages/products to meet production requirements
- Create and track compliance labels using BioTrack software and work to ensure all details are accurate and in compliance with state laws and industry standards
- Collaborate with Inventory Control Specialist and retail team members to ensure orders are fulfilled and delivered in accordance with their needs
- Recognize areas of opportunity to improve safety, product quality, food safety, cost, productivity, and employee morale
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to maximize productivity levels through efficiencies in human capital, reduction of material waste, and elimination of downtime
- Set and measure time to task goals for team members with an eye toward increased operational efficiency
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Cultivation, Lab, Kitchen, and Retail to identify areas of continuous improvement

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create a positive safety culture ensuring safety of our employees and visitors at all times. This includes ensuring procedures and practices are in place and are being followed
- Focus on maintaining continuous improvement initiatives/activities within the operation.
- Ensure compliance of Red White and Bloom Standards
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Qualifications and Experience:
- 3+ years' experience in Packaging, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain leadership, ideally in CPG
- Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred, e.g. Food, pharmaceuticals
- Demonstrated success leading large teams across multiple shifts
- Ability to provide clear direction and to coach and mentor associates
- Willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical and technical skills, including Excel, software
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
