We are hiring compassionate PT w/ Benefits Overnight Client Care Technicians to work in our Adult Unit. This is a key role whose primary goal is to provide a safe, supportive, nurturing environment for our clients. You would be a critical part of our treatment team, and after successfully completing your probationary period could qualify to enroll in our intensive and accelerated CCAPP approved educational program which prepares RADT_1’s for a career as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor - The Camp AOD Academy!
Our holistic approach focuses on restoring and improving upon the mind, body and spirit of all adults, and adolescents that attend this program. The first part of this specific approach includes guiding residents away from continual substance abuse through detox, proper diet and exercise, and participation in experiential and recreational activities. We offer Yoga, Acupuncture, and Meditation tools. As their bodies begin to sober up, they are able to establish a clearer state of mind, which allows them to better connect to the Recovery Support Network options and additional therapeutic mediums. As their participation in these modalities becomes more frequent, our residents are encouraged to establish a spiritual connection with their recovery, either through their own personal faith or the natural environment they are entrenched in. By offering this holistic approach, our clientele can begin healing their bodies, minds and spirits as they look to obtain long-term sobriety by creating a healthier and happier lifestyle.
CLIENT CARE TECH JOB DUTIES:
Assisting in the overall functioning of the program; answering phones, conducting facilities checks and rounds, assisting with admissions and new resident orientation, drive residents to and from outings and meetings, behavioral/crisis intervention and facilitation of groups.
Applicants for this position must have excellent verbal/written communication skills, and basic computer skills. This position requires an understanding of the facility's treatment program and philosophy, and this individual must have an understanding of alcoholism, drug abuse. Knowledge or understanding of co-occurring disorders is a plus. This position may be responsible for providing services to residents during the evening and night hours and must thrive in a team environment!
CLIENT CARE TECH QUALIFICATIONS:

Located in the tranquility of the Santa Cruz redwoods, The Camp Recovery Center has been treating adults and adolescents for drug addiction for almost 30 years. Considered a leader in the field of drug and alcohol treatment, The Camp has built a nationally recognized reputation in medical and therapeutic communities, and is now providing an advanced model of education for Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician Interns.
The Camp AOD Academy is an intensive and accelerated CCAPP approved institution which prepares RADTi’s for a career as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor by providing the educational components required by the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 9, Division 4, Chapter 8; § 13040 Requirements for Initial Certification of AOD Counselors, and which accepts applications on a nondiscriminatory basis from all Camp Recovery Center employees having the interest, ability, and desire to develop a career helping those suffering from addiction.
Our Mission is to provide students with the newest advancements in the fundamentals of drug and alcohol abuse counseling and provide the opportunity for supervised work-experience and internships onsite with our outstanding team of Clinician Instructors while providing guidance and approved California Consortium of Addictions Programs and Professionals (CCAPP) educational provider.
THE CAMP AOD ACADEMY COURSES:
101) An Overview of Alcohol and Drug Dependency: Examines the history of alcohol and other drugs in the US and the myths and stereotypes surrounding alcohol and drug use.
102) Physiology and Pharmacology: Includes an examination of the effects of alcohol and similar legal psychoactive drugs on the body and in behavior.
103) Personal and Professional Growth: Students will learn to recognize their personal strengths, limitations and foundational knowledge in order to promote professional growth.
104) Law and Ethics: Covers current legal sanctions including liabilities, auto accidents, bars, restaurants, liquor stores, traffic laws, and specific issues regarding employment problems are covered in this course.
105) Case Management: The 12 Core Functions are covered in depth: Screening, Intake, Orientation, Assessment, Treatment Planning, Counseling, Case Management, Crisis Intervention, Client Education, Referral, Reports and Record Keeping, and Consultation.
106) Counseling Theories and Techniques: Will include practical applications in role play settings, will cover individual, group and family counseling in depth.
107) Supervised Practicum: In preparation for 108 – Supervised Field Work Practicum, this course includes direct supervision while students are led through each of the 12 Core Functions and Global Criteria, their documentation, practical application and review.
