Responsibilities: Typical Day in the Life A typical day as an Outsourced Accounting Manager in Omaha, Nebraska may include:

  • Performs complex outsourced accounting services for clients handling the responsibilities of a Controller or Outsourced CFO.
  • Actively manages day-to-day accounting needs for clients, working as part of a team to provide a multi-faceted approach.
  • Mentors and trains employees in the outsourced accounting services area.
  • Manages client relationships and performs client billings for accounting services provided.
  • Manages client relationships by monitoring client needs and building value into professional service.
  • Actively handles day-to-day accounting needs for clients, functioning as their accounting department.
  • Oversees a team of outsourced accounting specialists and senior specialists.
  • Serves as a key point of contact on day-to-day accounting matters for the client.
  • Utilizes technology to properly account for all accounting transactions for the client in real-time.
  • Calculates and/or reviews month-end balancing and journal entries and provides an analysis of GL accounts.
  • Works closely with or acts as an outsourced CFO to provide advisory services to clients including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Responsible for communicating month-end results to clients.
  • Prepares reports, returns, and other documents as required, including sales tax reports, year-end tax forms, monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, and other reports required by clients.
  • Makes recommendations on how to streamline processes.
  • Provides feedback in order to develop the outsourced accounting practice.
  • Responsible for identifying opportunities to offer additional services to clients.
  • Participates in the area of business development.
Qualifications: Who You Are
  • You have advanced knowledge of general ledger accounting and principles.
  • You have the ability to think innovatively to incorporate technology solutions and streamlined processes.
  • You have the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • You have the ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
  • You have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • You are proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), QuickBooks and using various software packages (Sage and NetSuite preferred, but not required).
  • You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • You have 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience required including experience managing staff.
  • Preferably, you have or are interested in obtaining a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license.
Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
