Summary of the Position

The Outreach Coordinator provides communication and public relations to the community and potential clients. The Coordinator serves as a support for the Family Violence Center's Outreach Advocate, the Children's Service Center, and the Administration team. This position will primarily be responsible for planning, developing, and attending events, maintaining the website and social media in an effective and productive manner, and working as part of the administrative team when not conducting outreach activities.

Responsibilities
1. Provide event management/information and referral services to SHC Services

2. Make appointments with agencies, organizations, and individuals for outreach

3. Attend regional events as appropriate for communicating SHC's mission and purpose such as information fairs or recruiting
4. Provide information based on a client’s concerns

5. Conduct meetings with organizations and community stakeholders

6. Establish/Maintain a community group and host a meeting once a month to discuss issues relevant issue to the SHC's mission and the community

7. Fill out reports as necessary to ensure recordkeeping

8. Provide assistance working on relevant grants and funding for the SCH and our programs

9. Work with department directors to ensure events are coordinated

10. Meet goals established for the SHC

11. Attend mandatory meetings for programmatic updates

12. Promote the organization’s services through community outreach via social media, flyering, tabling at community events, etc

13. Answer phone calls

14. Attend to walk-ins

  • Ability to safely lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must pass central registry, criminal background checks, and pre-employment drug testing.
  • A high school diploma or GED., College degree strongly preferred
  • Background in public relations, communication (verbal, digital, and printed), and Tribal relations are strongly preferred
  • Previous work experience working with Domestic Violence victims preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Wages

Dependent upon verifiable experience, between $16.00 to $20.00 p/h.
