This is a State Park Maintenance position, keeping Fort Cooper state park clean and safe for the visitors. Please read full job description. This job has the ability to stretch year round but must stay at 24-29 hours weekly based on our work schedule. This job is an entry level position ideal for someone who may want to continue on in the Florida Park Service or a retired person who is interested in just working part-time on a rotating basis each week. No health or vacation benefits. Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays and weekends; communicate verbally and in writing; perform physical labor utilizing power/electrical/gas tools and equipment; provide detailed cleaning services to all facilities, deal with visitor inquiries in a tactful, efficient and courteous manner; deal with people and maintain good public relations; enforce rules and regulations; prepare and keep accurate reports; maintain a valid driver’s license; follow verbal and written instructions; prepare reports; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; understand and apply rules, directives, policies, laws and regulations. Knowledge, skill and ability to perform house and grounds keeping duties and apply maintenance trades. Skill in operating trucks, tractors, vehicles up to 2-ton level; operating mowers, chainsaws, standard power and manual tools. Knowledge and ability to perform routine inspections; identify and investigate problems and maintain facilities and equipment. Basic computer skills to be able to fill in short reports and communicate effectively with internal emails. Skill in computer applications such as MS Office, and Photoshop. Skill in resource management techniques. Interest in providing top-notch visitor services through the cleanliness and maintenance of facilities and high quality visitor contact experiences. Preferred Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position: Landscaping and Computer skills preferred.
