BASF’s North American Apprenticeship Development Program (NAADP) is strongly committed to attracting talented candidates like YOU to join our manufacturing workforce, where you will have the opportunity to grow your career through great work experiences further enhanced through on the job training and skills development. As part of BASF’s North American Apprenticeship Development Program (NAADP), apprentices participate in a 12-month program offering hands-on work experience in BASF’s chemical manufacturing plants. While participating in the NAADP, Apprentices will be offered wages and access to benefits. After the successful completion of the NAADP, Apprentices will have earned a certificate of completion from the Department of Labor, received on the job training directly related to the BASF Operator role, and will have bid into a full time role. At the end of the apprenticeship, participants have the skills and credentials to start their career in manufacturing.

Where the Chemistry Happens
BASF's Hannibal, Missouri Plant is one of the world's leading producers of agricultural chemicals. The operator may be assigned to the utilities unit or any one several production units at the Hannibal Plant that produce insecticides, herbicides, or intermediate chemicals.
Primary position functions include: Responsible for safety, quality, housekeeping, and proper care of equipment in the work area. Perform simple math calculations, interprets and carries out written instructions. Record data on log sheet; reads and interprets log sheet data. Adjust the process when appropriate. Coordinate process operations with supervisors, co-workers and technical personnel. Analyze and troubleshoot process problems utilizing available resources. Performs minor maintenance and follows maintenance work in the area. Maintains communication as related the process and equipment. Collects and evaluates samples; documents sample results. Monitors equipment in assigned area of responsibility for proper operation. Complete required training, including, but not limited to RCRA, PSM, DOT, Safety, etc. Support the Plant's safety and environmental goals.
High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, or similar operation
