Primary Job Summary: The Operations Support Coordinator (“OSC”) supports all day-to-day branch operations by acting in a Customer Service Representative, (Route) Delivery Driver and/or Warehouse Specialist capacity depending on the needs of the branch. The OSC will work both inside and outside of the branch and will be responsible for: order entry and assisting customers over the phone, via e-mail, and at the will-call counter; receiving, shipping, loading, and inventory upkeep; as well as delivering product to customers and utilizing those opportunities to cultivate lucrative and long-lasting relationships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Engages with customers by phone, through e-mail, or in person.
  • Solicits sale of new or additional products and assists outside sales team in generating customer quotes.
  • Receives orders for products and verifies the availability of product and delivery method; completes order through Trend.
  • Maintains customer account and pricing records within Trend.
  • Reviews Trend reports; creates PDSC records, and problem-solves reporting variances and exceptions to determine cause and correction solutions.
  • Explains company policies concerning billing, COD's, or service rendered, referring complaints of service failures to manager for when they cannot be resolved by OSC.
  • Drives a company vehicle to deliver such items as transformers, paint, vinyl, polycarbonate, and other sign supply materials to customers’ homes or places of business.
  • Collects money from C.O.D. customers, makes change, and records transactions on customer receipt.
  • Records sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.
  • Cleans inside of company vehicle and performs routine maintenance inspections
  • Educates customers on new products or services, and calls on current and prospective customers to solicit new business via telephone and while making deliveries.
  • Listens to and resolves service complaints.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with the outside and inside sales staff, and assists them in servicing customers.
  • Receives product into inventory and accurately places it for storage or delivery on designated racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code and bin location.
  • Picks and pulls customer orders from inventory and places the orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to the packing station, staging area, or shipping area to be loaded onto delivery vehicles.
  • Completes inventory cycle counts and processes paperwork and records amount of materials or items received or shipped.
  • Weighs, measures, and/or counts product to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • May operate power tools such as a saw to cut products to customer specifications.
  • Drives or operates forklift, cherry picker, or lift-jack vehicle to move product within the warehouse.
  • Services will-call customers and prepares parcels for mailing and/or shipping including warehouse transfers.
  • Maintains good inventory practices when handling products using care to avoid damage and loss.
  • Processes customer returns and tracks them in inventory.
  • Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions and can be counted on for follow-through.
  • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail and continually seeks out opportunities to increase their product knowledge of new and existing products.
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; one to three years of related customer service, warehousing, and/or delivery driver experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of (or ability to learn) Trend Inventory software; Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word); and UPS WorldShip.

Other Skills

Ability and comfort to occasionally use cutting tools such as a utility knife, circular saw, and router. Ability and comfort to occasionally operate a forklift.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable MVR per company guidelines required; forklift certification preferred.

Pay: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour
