The primary responsibility of the Operations Manager is to oversee and lead all exempt and non-exempt Operational team members toward achieving company goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership abilities with a track record of building and maintaining a strong cohesive team. This position will require a high performing individual who is a strong problem solver and have the ability to multi task in a very fast paced environment. An entrepreneurial approach to this position is highly desired.
Job Functions & Responsibilities: We are seeking a Senior level lead installation security technician with 5+ years’ experience in commercial security products including: intrusion systems, access control, CCTV and IP-based video systems., or equivalently work-related experience in the voice/data/service or security industries. Additional experience with inspections, troubleshooting, testing, programming, and repairing integrated security & fire alarm systems a plus. Position requires advanced understanding of networks and IT infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, and achieve the strategic and annual operating plans of the Installation, Service, Customer Care Departments.
- Interview, hire, train, motivate, and manage the department’s management team in executing the agreed upon plans and objectives of the company.
- Actively recruit for the best talent available to help the company reach all technical and customer satisfaction goals.
- Attain budget targets in installation and service revenues, monthly and annually in accordance with goals and standards, while complying with budget expense targets.
- Participate with new technology launches and suggest new products that could enhance our service offerings to our client base.
- Manage and oversee purchasing of parts/equipment/supply inventory and distribution. Maintain security of inventory; prevent loss, damage or theft of inventory. Ensure proper inventory practices are maintained within company standards. Verify reconciliations at the end of each month to assure accountability.
- Ensures all Project Management responsibilities are taking place and within company expectations.
- Monitor construction team relationships and management of trade partners, ensuring a high level of communication and accountability.
- Evaluate month-end management reports to assess technician productivity, profit/loss or projects efficiency, quality and effectiveness.
- Assist the sales department on technical sales questions and bidding as requested by Sales Manager.
- Ensures the successful creation and routine deployment of regimented technical training program to ensure our technicians are trained and certified in all major products and services. Conduct regularly scheduled department meetings to assure proper communication and safety training.
- Conduct self in a professional manner always. Maintain confidentiality of pertinent information as defined in the Personnel Manual.
- Maintain a positive and caring atmosphere for employees consistent with our policies and business ethnics. Managerial style should of a coaching and training mentality in compliance with Executive Management’s Expectations.
Required Knowledge Base, Skills, & Abilities:
- Candidates should have a proven track record of managing both exempt and non-exempt personnel in a technicalindustry.
- Strong Project Management experience.
- Previous experience with Commercial construction.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of Burglary, Fire, Access, and CCTV systems highly recommended.
- Knowledge of IP based Security Industry Products highly recommended.
- Strong understanding of Internet Protocol and Network Products is Highly Recommended (switches, routers, firewalls,IP addressing, PoE, etc.).
- Strong oral and written communication skills, customer service, time-management, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
- Proficient in computers and software applications that include: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, etc.
- CA Fire Life Safety Certified and/or NICET a plus.
