What you will be doing: A successful Operations and Finance Assistant is an energetic professional, experienced in handling a wide range of office duties, with the capability of resolving complex situations with good judgement. A strong candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities in this fast paced and entrepreneurial environment. Some of the duties will include: Responsible for building and technology needs of Rev: Ithaca Startup Works, including security, access control, information technology and telecommunications. Serve as local liaison with building personnel and/or landlord.Make all appropriate arrangements and handle negotiations for maintenance, repair, supply, security and cleaning of facility. Pay invoices, process IWNT eDocs and reimburse expenses as assigned by supervisor. Assist supervisor and CREA executive director with budgets, budget analysis, grant submissions and data collection as needed. This is a one-year term position with the possibility of extension based on funding, the needs of the program, and successful performance. What are the required qualifications? Associate’s degree with at least 2 to 4 years relevant administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We also look for the following experiences and abilities: Ability to handle time sensitive and confidential information appropriately; perform and communicate in a professional manner with tact and diplomacy; and work both independently and collaboratively with others in a team environment. Word processing, presentation skills, spreadsheet, and email software skills (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook). Proven experience organizing and managing multiple tasks, priorities, and projects in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail. Must have an eagerness to learn new tools, make change quickly, and enhance processes to advance the department. In addition to these requirements, we would value someone with prior experience using Cornell systems (KFS, Oracle Analytics financial dashboards, eShop, Access Control), and a BS degree preferred. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the University’s need to limit the number of on-campus employees, the successful applicant will be asked to perform this role remotely at a location of their choice in the United States for a limited period of time until the University can permit more employees to work on campus.
