What You'll Be Doing
Wake County Human Services is recruiting for an experienced Office Assistant to join our dynamic team! The Office Assistant will provide administrative support to the Health Services Operations Manager. This role will be as a liaison between the Health Services Operations Manager and Director of Clinical Operations, Division Directors, Program Managers, supervisors, staff and other individuals as required.
The responsibilities of the Office Assistant include:
Coordinating and performing a variety of administrative and secretarial duties. Performing routine and moderate to complex administrative tasks to ensure efficient daily departmental operations
Performing assignments such as reception duties and functioning as a department initial point of contact
Assisting with special projects and duties as requested, performing research, gathering materials and collecting and entering data
Providing administrative support by serving as main retriever and distributer for the Sunnybrook Mail Room for Public Health, Health Promotions and Disease Prevention, Business/Finance Office and the Default box
Actively supporting and participating in department emergency preparedness and response activities, which may include temporary changes in responsibilities and working hours
If you work in the Health Clinics and Public Health Division, influenza immunization is a condition of initial and continued employment, subject to compliance with federal law.
NOTE: Wake County Human Services employees are required to be in their current role for a minimum of one (1) year to be eligible to apply for another Human Services position. The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
High school diploma or GED
One year of experience in clerical work
Equivalent education or experience is accepted
Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Over 5 years executive level administrative support experience
Strong experience with Power Point presentations
Strong Excel experience including advanced features
2 years or more experience acting as team or project lead with executive level administrative work
