MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:High school graduate or GED equivalent Required Skills include:Satisfactory completion of diet office / diet therapy training manual.Medical terminology class (or equivalent).Previous foodservice experience (hospital, nursing home, etc.) desirable.Computer (Windows platform), PowerChart, or willing to receive training.Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, phone courtesy, listening).Employees in relief positions maintain a reasonably flexible scheduleServSafe certified or willing to obtain certification.PREFERRED QUALITIES:Ability to work under elements of time pressure, noise, and frequent interruption of activities.Physical stamina to perform job duties, including the ability to sit for two hour intervals and stand for up to six hours.Positive customer service skills.
A Nutrition Assistant responsibilities include:Primarily responsible for performing final check of room service trays. Assures completion and accuracy of patient meal trays. Under the direction of managers and following established department policies, procedures, and standards, the Nutrition Assistant provides direction, coaching, and training to other tray-line positions as needed. Provides temporary coverage to other tray-line position for breaks during unexpected periods of high volume. Maintains records and logs as assigned. This may include, but is not limited to, tray delivery logs and food and equipment temperature logs. Takes appropriate action to correct problems identified.Assures all chit printers are stocked with paper for all meals.Corrects paper menus for Center One and Rehab and for non-participating patients as needed.Maintains stock of bedside menus, and replaces / replenishes as needed.Actively supports and participates in Quality Assurance activities, including but not limited to, tray assessments, Gold Checks, meal rounds, sanitation checklists, satisfaction surveys, tray accuracy reports, and department committees.Corrects paper menus for Center One and Rehab and for non-participating patients as needed.Maintains stock of bedside menus, and replaces / replenishes as needed.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
A Meal Service Attendant will be responsible for:Passing meal trays and snacks to patients in a timely and accurate manner. Maintaining stock and supplies including food, paper goods, and tube feeding products. Maintaining records for tray completion and delivery and for maintaining stock. Transporting dirty trays from nursing units to the dishroom. Cleaning and sanitizing food delivery carts.
