Overview: The Sup, Cardiac Device Center (CDC) is a professional, registered nurse who is a skilled communicator, collaborator, and authentic leader who is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing all new programs/devices with growth of the program as a strategic priority. This role in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, assesses, plans, implements, monitors, and evaluates nursing practice and the nursing care delivery system with direct supervision of front-line staff. This role will have managerial responsibilities for all the team members of the program and collaborate with the in-patient EP and Cath Lab environment to establish a seamless transition for recently implanted devices (pacemakers and Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD)) and discharge. Qualifications: Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 1. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing. 2. Clinical background with a minimum of 5 years experience in the electrophysiology and/or device management systems 3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 4. Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms. 5. Leadership attributes. Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: 1. Master's of Science in Nursing. 2. Supervisory or charge nurse experience. Licenses and Certifications Required: 1. Current and valid New Jersey Registered Nurse license 2. BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association ACLS required. Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
Responsibilities: 1. Establishes workflow processes requiring escalation to physicians. 2. Demonstrates a high degree of business acumen, sound judgment and discretion in decision making, problem solving and project management in a fast paced, high performance environment. 3. Manages ICM, Implantable Loop Recorder (ILR), Loop clinics and provides training to all new staff. 4. Maintains knowledge of new technologies emerging for consideration. 5. Responsible monthly review of patient volumes, patient satisfaction of patients followed in the CDC. 6. Facilitates growth of program with outreach to physician practices working with HVH leadership and business development. 7. Processes remote transmissions with accurate documentation and routes completed report to following EP. 8. Resource to all staff in regards to Cardiac Devices. Provides services to in-patient units as requested. 9. Coordinates, implements and evaluates the education programs and other unit initiatives. 10. Works in collaboration with RNs, APNs, EP providers 11. Participates with recruitment and retention strategies. 12. Assists with unit huddles and leader rounding with employees. 13. Participates with unit goal creation which are reflective of the hospital goals as well as the mission and vision of Hackensack Meridian Health. 14. Participates or leads when appropriate: evidenced-based practice projects and research. 16. Resolves conflicts and facilitates constructive resolutions and positive outcomes if possible. 17. Completes employee corrective action plans/counseling as necessary. 18. Prepares and conducts periodic performance evaluations to assigned staff members. 19. Participates with and models the importance of employee recognition. 20. Models cultural competence, social justice and fairness and capitalizes on generational diversity to foster highly effective work groups. 21. Where applicable, escalates nursing labor/management issues. 22. Other duties and/or projects as assigned. 23. Adheres to HMH Organizational and Managerial competencies and standards of behavior. Financial Management: This role collaborates with the Nurse Manager for efficient fiscal management of departmental activities to ensure proper utilization of hospital resources: 1. Participates in Payroll, Staff Scheduling and daily staffing needs. 2. Assists in the management of the department budget. Monitors business intelligence for the unit. 4. Understands the relationship between value-based purchasing and quality outcomes with revenue and reimbursement. 5. Monitors unit staffing productivity and flexes staff accordingly. Quality and Safety/Performance Improvement In collaboration with the Nurse Manager, the ANM will: 1. Optimizes the patient and family experience of care. 2. Leads Multidisciplinary Rounds. 3. Ensures unit-based performance improvement monitoring is completed, trended and reported internal and external to the unit. 4. Leads or participates with quality improvement projects. 5. Lead or conducts root cause analysis investigations. 6. Assures unit regulatory compliance. Serves as liaison to the HMH's compliance team, overseeing regulatory compliance requirements for the Joint Commission and the Department of Health at HUMC. 7. Participates in staff education and competency. 8. Serves as a role model to others and mentor new team members.
