Kootenai Health, located in Coeur d’Alene, ID, is hiring an evening Nursing Education Specialist to support and help lead our Medical/Surgical Teams!

As a Nursing Education Specialist, you will:
Demonstrate and maintain depth and breadth of knowledge, skills, and competence in your nursing specialty area
Facilitate the hospital or clinic shared governance program
Consult, recommend and facilitate nursing specialty track education for residents, nurse interns or any other program for new specialty nurses
Analyze and validate educational needs and competencies
Develop and initiate training programs that facilitate the achievement of clinical care nursing competency goals
Participate in the development of standards of practice using the most current evidence
Implement nursing education processes that enhance knowledge, skills, and attitudes for safe, competent and effective nursing practice
Evaluate practice in relation to professional practice standards, guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations
Some of the core focuses of this role include;
Oversight of specialty-specific education creation and delivery
Demonstrating program innovation
Utilizing and participating in evidence-based practice
Supporting shared governance, accreditation, and other initiatives related to Transition to Practice
Functioning as a facilitator and change agent
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Idaho
Graduate degree, or current graduate program with a graduation date expected within 2 years of hire
If a graduate degree is not in nursing, it must be in a related field and a BSN is required
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical care nursing practices required
National professional board certification for specialty required
BLS Required
