Nurse Supervisor - Weekends (Nights)

Overview: The nurse supervisor is responsible for managing staff, overseeing resident care and ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. They are charged with assigning staff and monitoring their activities and providing for the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act of Ohio.Responsibilities:- Responsible for knowing and demonstrating Otterbein Values while performing all job functions.
- Maintain accountability of Resident Care by monitoring & coordinating other partners
- Assign staff within established guidelines.
- Observes the resident’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs and reports to and collaborates with other care team members.
- Advocates for the resident and family to the physician.
- Assists physician in the provision of assessment, treatment, and evaluation.
- Interacts with residents in a therapeutic manner, using behavior management techniques such as validation and reminiscence.
- Maintains resident rights and confidentiality.
- Interacts positively with residents, family members, personnel, and visitors under a variety of conditions and circumstances.
- Completes documentation in a timely manner.
- Supervises and assists Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Special Care Assistants and Resident Care Assistants (STNA) in provision of direct care and activities and responds to their concerns.
- Has the ability to and desire to work cooperatively with others by performing other tasks such as providing activities or assisting at mealtime.
- Follows Universal precautions and Infection Control techniques.
- Seeks direction from Director of Health Services or Assistant Directors of Nursing’s (ADON) as needed.
- Provide positive & negative feedback and education on a daily basis.
- Participates in evaluations of the staff and the program.
Qualifications:Job Specifications:Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a diploma, or Associate Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio. Experience: Previous experience in long-term health care facility preferred.
