Under the supervision of the UCSF Department of Occupational Health Services and guided by the policies and procedures, rules and regulations, and bylaws of the UCSF Medical Center, some Nursing Policies, and Medical Staff Policies, and any unique ambulatory patient services this Nurse Practitioner (NP) position is assigned to in Occupational Health Services. This AHP position works in a dynamic clinic that is responsible for the health and welfare of the UCSF workforce. The AHP may perform delegated functions as appropriate to their “scope of practice”. In general, the “scope of practice” includes the management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and surgical procedures per approved standardized procedures (SPs) as identified by the list available on the Office of Medical Affairs and Governance (OMAG) website. The CIDP approved standardized procedures are unique to each person and are unlikely to include ALL SPs on the list.
This position may provide patient care in approved age groups and UCSF Health licensed settings. The AHP has responsibility for the quality of standards of care for a specified patient population and evidences self-direction and accountability in the development of this role within all UCSF medical center locations.
UCSF Health requires all Advanced Health Practitioners (AHP) to be credentialed through its OMAG to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric AHPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Health sites (Parnassus, Mt. Zion, Mission Bay, and Satellite Clinics, et al). Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 30-60 days and must be completed prior to the first working day.
UCSF Health requires all Advanced Health Practitioners (APP) to be credentialed through OMAG to practice and be privileged through CIDP to function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings at all UCSF Health sites and affiliates. Credentialing, health plan enrollment, and approval of privileges must be completed prior to the first working day. Inability to comply with the requirements of OMAG/CIDP AT ALL TIMES will result in either, a LOA or suspension of privileges designation.
