In 1958, a local group of Clark County parents of children with special needs created an organization that is today called New Hope Services, Inc., based in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
1. Implements policies and procedures of NHS and the family planning program and follows Indiana Family Health Council (IFHC) and Title X guidelines.
2. Obtains a client history and performs a physical exam on clients.
3. Implements appropriate screening and laboratory testing based on results of the clients history and physical.
4. Obtains necessary laboratory specimens, reviews and interprets laboratory results and follows up appropriately.
5. Completes necessary diagnostic testing according to manufacturer instructions, CLIA standards, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) 2002 guidelines.
6. Follows American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology standards when performing Pap Smear Screenings.
7. Follows manufacturer guidelines and American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology standards when performing intrauterine device (IUD) insertions.
8. Educates clients on birth control methods and assists clients in method selection.
9. Prescribes and distributes contraceptives to clients according to NHS and manufacturer guidelines.
10. Prescribes and administers medications according to NHS, CDC and manufacturer guidelines.
11. Provides client counseling on reproductive health and sexuality and refers clients to other agencies and health care providers as needed.
12. Documents information in the clients medical record according to policy.
13. Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to the program.
14. Must have knowledge and understanding of and follow Indiana Statutes regarding the reporting of child abuse, child molestation, sexual abuse, rape and, incest.
15. May perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be willing to travel to obtain CDC training on sexually transmitted diseases and any other additional required trainings, including IFHC and Title X.
2. Must be proficient in phlebotomy and gynecological specimen collection and testing.
3. Current CPR certification required (or must obtain certification within the first three months of employment).
1. Current license to practice as a Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana required
2. Documented evidence of completion of an Advanced Practice Nursing Program that meets the American Nurses Association Guidelines required.
3. Masters of Science Degree from a university/college program approved by the National League for Nursing
