Responsibilities Venice Family Clinic is a community health center whose mission is “To provide quality primary health care to people in need.” Venice Family Clinic cares for over 27,000 low-income patients in over 120,000 visits annually who might otherwise go without critically needed health care services. Venice Family Clinic has fourteen locations with over 420 staff, 1,300 volunteers, and a budget of $70 million. We provide high quality, comprehensive primary and specialty health care, dental, mental health, substance use treatment and child development services to underserved individuals and families on the Westside of Los Angeles. As part of the health care team in a federally qualified health center and community primary healthcare clinic, supervise certified medical assistants, volunteer clinic assistants, Licensed Vocational Nurses and Registered Nurses. Provide primary care nursing services to the low-income and homeless of the Venice and Santa Monica communities. The Nursing Supervisor is responsible for assisting with clinical management and administrative coordination of Venice Family Clinic. The position is a combination of clinical (direct care) and administrative responsibilities. Provides ongoing clinical support and supervision. Provides supervision, coaching and modeling of effective problem solving, conflict resolution, communication and team building skills and maintains a harmonious and collaborative atmosphere on the unit. Models compassion, understanding, problem solving and conflict resolution skills in coaching and mentoring staff to assist patients and families needing assistance and maintains good public relations. Consistently keeps current on clinical, unit, department and medical center changes; shares information and coaches staff members about their responsibility to be well informed.
