Salary $10.99 - $19.12 Hourly $22,854 - $39,766 Annually This position is a Pay Band 45 This posting will be used to conduct ongoing recruitment and will remain open until position has been filled. Provide patient care duties under the direction of the nursing staff. Perform vital signs, breathalyzers, urine drug screens, EKGs, patient searches, patient rounding, patient transportation, charting within the electronic medical record, stocking the unit, filing documents, cleaning medical equipment, facilitate telehealth between provider and patients, and movement withing the hospital to meals and groups/activities. Nurse Technicians work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide nursing, patient supervision, strategic observation during medication times and personal care to individuals with substance misuse and co-occurring mental health issues. Their main responsibilities include, assisting registered nurses with patient care and this includes taking/charting vitals for patients, providing physical support to assist patients perform daily living activities such as, getting out of bed, dressing, standing, and walking. Adults who present with substance misuse and co-occurring disorders and staff of Turquoise Lodge Hospital. Experience working in a therapeutic milieu. High School Diploma or Equivalency OR current New Mexico certification as a Nurse Aide (Current out-of-state CNAs may be certified by reciprocity). Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below. This position will perform work in an acute care hospital setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive computer and phone usage. Patient transfers may require lifting a minimum of fifty (50) pounds, using proper lifting and transfer techniques. Incumbent will work with behaviorally challenged residents who may exhibit unpredictable potentially violent behavior in volatile situations requiring crisis intervention.
Nurse technicians who work in twenty-four (24) hour facilities (those hours worked between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.) will receive a shift differential, rate of shift differential varies with each agency. Nurse technicians will be compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times their regular hourly rate of pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours during the employee's designated work week (overtime pay).
