Fetch Your News wants quality reporters who write and research stories in small-town America. Operating out of north Georgia, west North Carolina, and east Tennessee, reporters must attend local government meetings, break the news, and write feature pieces.
Responsibilities:
- Write weekly articles tailored to your coverage area
- Conduct research on assigned or approved stories for information and accuracy
- Collaborate and take direction from Editor in Chief
- Edit and revise work before publishing
- Follow AP and Fetch Your News style guidelines
- Submit work in a timely fashion, within 24-hours after a local meeting or ASAP for breaking news
- Include SEO practices in your writing
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience & Requirements:
- Command of the written English language
- Strong communication skills and work ethic
- ·Knowledge of SEO, WordPress, YouTube, and associated software
- Capable of working independently and within tight deadlines
- Able to attend local meetings
- Interact with public and team in a positive and productive manner
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and accept constructive criticism
- Photography and graphic design experience a plus

- Office/Remote position: Remote (but required to attend local meetings)
