Primary Purpose:
This position supports new program (including new degree programs, certificates, badges etc.) development in the School of Health Sciences (SHS) from the concept development through the program approval process and implementation. The position will also regularly complete environmental scans of healthcare needs and present findings to academic leadership for discussion and consideration for new program development.
Essential Functions:
Keep abreast of new developments and research in academic healthcare program innovation, and share this information with dean and faculty as appropriate.
Discuss new program ideas with faculty and administration to understand the role of the program and alignment with SHS strategic plan.
Research market demand for proposed new programs including disciplinary accreditation requirements.
Develop initial academic program and business plans for new healthcare academic programs collaborating with faculty/staff and community partners as appropriate.
Support academic leadership to analyze new opportunities and proposals and identify potential synergies with existing portfolio and make decisions and adjustments as deemed necessary based on priority and strategic alignment.
Develop and maintain a process for initial/concept submission from faculty/academic leadership to initiate the proposed program feasibility review, and then connect with the next steps in the decision making process.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD or terminal degree in a healthcare field.
Three (3) years of experience working with new healthcare program development, including needs assessment and market demands.
Three (3) years of experience working with new healthcare program implementation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to support the development of a range of healthcare fields and disciplines to successfully develop new degree/non-degree programs.
Demonstrated excellence in communication/interpersonal skills.
Ability to direct the gathering and analysis of statistical data to support decision-making.
Familiarity with numerous disciplinary healthcare accrediting bodies and able to discern specific programmatic accreditation requirements.
Experience managing multiple time-sensitive projects, timelines, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
