To support this mission, we are looking for a NOC Manager to help support future growth.
Description:
Vapor IO is searching for an experienced Network Operations Center (NOC) Manager to build and operate a 24x7 NOC at Vapor. You will report to our Director of Customer Success and will be a critical part of our growth as we continue to expand our edge network and colocation facilities across the country.
This role will ultimately be located at our Austin, TX headquarters, but will be work-from-home for the remainder of the pandemic.

In this position, you will have an opportunity to design and implement the NOC function at Vapor. Your knowledge, experience, and creativity will be key to your success as you build the tooling, processes, and team from the ground up.
What You Will Do:

  • Own and lead the business on incident management, RCA/problem management, and change management
  • Build and provide day-to-day leadership for the 24x7 NOC team
  • Serve as incident manager during active incidents
  • Develop key dashboards for transparency of reporting uptime and other metrics as identified
  • Develop and document policies, procedures, and run books
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other internal teams (facilities, network, software)
  • Establish NOC to NOC relationships with end customers
  • Build a culture of pro-activity, business cooperation, continuous improvement, and exceptional service delivery

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in a NOC environment, with 2+ years of management experience
  • Proven ability to design and implement NOC tools and processes
  • Capable of communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from the C-suite down to individual contributors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Fundamental understanding of data center power and cooling systems
  • Strong knowledge of networking systems used in data centers and colocation facilities
  • The ability to learn new concepts and technologies quickly
  • ITIL Foundation Certification or a willingness to achieve this certification in the first 90 days of employment
  • A good sense of humor and plenty of patience for a fluid startup environment
