LGT is looking for a skilled professional to join our Non- Destructive Testing team! We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, enthusiastic and eager individuals to join our team as NDT Inspectors Level I, II and III.
The NDT Inspector is responsible for performing inspections utilizing various NDT techniques in FPI, MPI, Eddy Current, UT and Visual Inspection methods in accordance with the company and customer specifications. The Inspector will develop and maintain processes to ensure all operations staff is complying with regulations. The Inspector must be able to effectively communicate all inspection reports to the company and the customer throughout the project.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Will stand up and ensure a strict NDT facility and inspection process.
- Prepare and verify work instructions for NDT methods to be in compliance with customer specification and requirements.
- Train, test and certify NDT inspectors in the method(s) and techniques certified per the latest revision of established Quality Control procedures.
- Analyzes and interpret inspection quality data, conduct research on product defects, and recommend modification in products or quality standards, where such appear to be warranted.
- Assist in the development of new NDT process and procedures with regards to new technology and customer approval of that technology.
- Ensure compliance with customer and government regulations as pertaining to the inspection departments, including ability to interpret codes standards and other contractual documents.
- Assist Responsible Level III as required and directed in all aspects of NDT inspection program.
- Develop new inspection methods and/or programs that promote cost reduction activities.
- Have a general knowledge of other NDT methods and product manufacturing and inspection technologies used by the employer.
- Provide or direct training, examination, and certification of personnel.
- When delegated by the Manager, Quality Compliance as a Special Process Auditor, audit outside agencies to ensure the requirements of the written practice are met.
Qualifications:
- Magnetic Particle Certification from a qualified institution
- Liquid Penetrant Certification from a qualified institution
- Ultrasonic Inspection Certification from a qualified institution
- Eddy Current Certification from a qualified institution
- Proof of NDT classroom hours
- Proof of OJT hours or previous Level III certs
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances as required
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Candidate must meet vision and color perception requirements
- Willingness to work overtime as requested and non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays
- Have the skills and knowledge to carry out necessary preparation of parts before and after inspection in accordance with approved work instruction
