Naval Tactical Grid SME/Military Analyst – 21-019 – Norfolk, VA

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Naval Tactical Grid SME/Military Analyst to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members.

Serve as an analyst providing support to the United States Fleet Forces Command (USFFC) and its missions, functions and tasks through a contracted position serving the function of the Naval Tactical Grid SME. Be part of an AUSGAR team supporting Future Joint Force development, including developing military capabilities for multiple Combatant Command (COCOM) and coalition clients. Identify, develop and evaluate complex or highly sensitive future Joint Force capabilities, methods, procedures and processes. Formulate complex future requirements, including working closely with higher headquarters and subordinate capability developers to support specific programs and projects. Analyze the development of a draft of a concept of operations (CONOP) for Naval Tactical Grid and Navel Operational Architecture (NOA) concepts and provide it to internal and external stakeholders for review. Review DoD, Combatant Command (COCOM), service and component policies, directives, strategies and concept papers for accuracy and operational relevancy and research and provide comments to staff as required.

Specific Duties and Functions include:

  • Serve as the primary adviser to USFFC N-6 on all Naval Tactical Grid concepts relating to Distributed Maritime Operations and Naval Operational architecture.
  • Provide descriptive and/or statistical results reports from large data sets and leads cross-functional analysis of network and system functionality.
  • Conduct the weekly technical teleconference with the experiment participants and update the customer and PM/Leads as required.
  • Create briefs and reporting structures to support FLEG/SES level conferences and meetings.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; prefer Master’s degree in a technical field of study, such as Engineering or Physical Sciences, with coursework or field experience in Decision Analytics, Data Analytics, Applied Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Systems Analysis, Economics, etc.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • 15+ years of experience with military operations.
  • 10+ years of experience with working in IO and Naval Tactical Grid strategic and operational environments.
  • 5+ years of experience with developing and revising DoD Joint planning doctrines and processes and joint concepts.
  • Experience in Naval Tactical Grid operations, polices and concepts.
  • Experience working with Navy and Service war fighting priorities and capabilities, as applied to naval and joint operations.
  • Experience analyzing data on identifying command level trends, capability gaps and areas of concerns to provide solutions and inform decisions.
  • Experience working with Navy systems and/or commands desirable, but not mandatory.
  • Technical knowledge on C4I systems.
  • Knowledge of and experience using personal computers and application software, such as Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project, with an emphasis on the statistical analysis capabilities of Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with experience using superior oral and written communication skills, to include a high degree of tact, diplomacy, sound judgment and the ability to work closely with senior personnel, such as flag officers.
  • Prefer Staff officer supporting Navy Information Operation of Naval Tactical Grid operations.

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a Secret security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.
