Job Description SummaryGE Aviation is seeking a Multimedia Designer that will be responsible for creating instructional media to support developing lean behaviors and skills across our organization and enabling great learning experiences.

This role is responsible for developing self-paced content to support our curriculum. It will involve engaging with internal customers and the Aviation Lean Business Operations team to ensure we have consistently excellent lean learning across the organization. The role enables the Aviation Lean Business Operations team to execute on their operational goals, drive lean mindset into the organization and set the business up for success as we move through our lean transformation journey.

The Multimedia Designer will have strong technical skills with a clear understanding of learning and development pedagogy. You may not have experience with lean content, but you must be ready to learn and be passionate about enabling culture change through learning. You will be organized and proficient in time management and possess excellent development skills.
This role is part of GE Aviation's Lean Business Operations Team, reporting directly to the Lean Learning & Development Leader for GE Aviation.

Job Description

Key responsibilities/essential functions include:

  • Develop engaging multimedia and digital resources, could include video, audio and animation
  • Evaluate contemporary learning trends and emerging learning design technologies
  • Understand website design and the skills needed to maintain an engaging web platform
  • Collaborate with the Lean Learning & Development Leader to continuously identify training needs
  • Work with the Lean Learning Facilitator to ensure alignment across both facilitated and self-paced learning opportunities.
  • Work with the Lean Learning Leader to maintain a culture of continuous learning and development
  • Partner with the lean team and extended team members on key initiatives and projects

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Certificate or Bachelor´s degree
  • Three years of professional experience in contemporary instructional design and development
  • Experience creating effective and engaging learning interactions
  • Experience with establishing relationships and collaborating on team projects
  • Experience with contemporary design and multimedia programs (i.e. Articulate, Adobe Creative Suite,)
  • Experience with building and maintaining websites using custom templates in WordPress (to include knowledge of HTML and CSS)
  • English fluency
  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment, balancing and executing on multiple priorities
  • Strong client service orientation and passion for problem solving
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Remote working locations will be considered
  • If outside of Cincinnati, OH, able to travel +/- 15% of time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and techniques
  • Master’s Degree in a related field (i.e. Instructional Systems Design, Adult Learning, Education)
  • One year of professional experience in contemporary instructional design and development for a global organization
  • Experience training others on the use of various instructional technologies and techniques
