Mortgage Loan Assistant

A Mortgage Loan Assistant assists Mortgage Home Loan Consultant(s) with loan entry in the loan system, setting up loan files in accepted underwriting order, sending documentation to processors and/or underwriters, and communicating direct with processing and underwriting staff in regards to loan officer files.

• Labeling each condition by number (coinciding with loan approval) giving to underwriting along with the file for review
• Communicating directly with customers, real estate agents and business partners to retrieve needed conditions
• Ordering prelims and escrows with title companies; as needed
• Facilitating the transfer of loan files from origination to processing/underwriting
• Providing general assistance to the designated loan consultant

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to two years mortgage experience is preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledgeable of underwriting/qualifying requirements for secondary market investors; including FHA, VA, FMHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and private companies; knowledgeable of First Bank's underwriting/qualifying requirements a strong plus
• Registration under the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required upon hire.
