Motor Vehicle Operator (CYS) NA-07

Duties - Ensures the safety and well-being of children, youth, and adults being transported to and from the program and on field trips.
- Responsible for driving CYS buses that weigh more than 26,000 lbs. or carry more than 15 passengers regardless of weight, and is used for transporting children and youth to and from school, to other CYS and Garrison facilities, and on field trips.
- Follows procedures to guarantee no child is left alone on the bus without adult supervision at any time and ensures all children have left the bus at the end of the route.
- Operates the bus in such a way that road and safety regulations are always followed; and reports any traffic violations to supervisor immediately.
- Arranges for and ensures completion of routine maintenance of bus (e.g., oil change) by transporting the bus to and from maintenance and/or repair facilities.
Requirements Conditions of Employment - Position duty hours, location and/or activity are subject to change based on mission requirements.
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, 2-15.m., and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.
- Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy including annual influenza vaccinations.
- Schedule includes irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends.
- Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors under different types of weather conditions.
- This position requires mandatory drug testing.
- Satisfactory performance and successful completion of Annual training requirements within prescribed time frame are required.
- This position requires mandated reporting of all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.
- The physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis is required.
- The appropriate driver's license must be valid and current.
Qualifications 1. High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (MUST BE UPLOADED AT TIME OF APPLICATION).
2. Ability to communicate in English at a level to ensure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
3. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
4. Requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no restrictions to operate a passenger vehicle that carries 16 or more (MUST BE UPLOADED AT TIME OF APPLICATION).
Highly Preferred: Applicants meeting the highly preferred will be referred first for hiring considerations.
1. Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with P and S endorsements.
2. Possess experience operating vehicles with air brakes.
