Job Description:
Spiral Solutions and Technologies, Inc. (Spiral) seeks a Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Support professional to join its team.

This role will provide M&S development, integration and execution support and assistance to include supporting analysis, review and assessment of key performance parameters and coordinating with appropriate system architects/engineers to resolve issues or troubleshoot M&S tools being used and provide resolution to obtain the needed capability.

Qualifications:

- Operate and maintain the baseline Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) M&S systems in order to support training and exercises. Initial focus will be on missile warning, missile defense, Nuclear Command, Control and Communication (NC3), and space. Manage M&S/LVC components in the virtualized and federated architecture in coordination with other government agencies to ensure the environment is available for use by the training audience. Provide help desk support to users of the baseline system during normal working hours with 24/7 surge capability for limited durations as required during exercises and training events.

· * Using government provided tools and models, develop, test, and execute fully integrated and dynamic M&S to simulate all display systems used during exercises, training, and wargames.

o * The following systems, as a minimum, shall be included: Global Command and Control System (GCCS) Common Operational Picture (COP); Nuclear Planning and Execution System (NPES); Force Status Readiness (FSR) database; and virtualized Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and BMD displays.

o * Tools/models include the following: Joint Integrated Ballistic Missile Defense/Missile Warning Training System (JIMDTS); Low Overhead Training Simulation (LOTS); Scenario Injector; Hyperion; and Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM)

o * Coordinate with internal and external customers/organizations during the planning phase to identify and implement an appropriate simulation architecture based on requirements and objectives of a given event. Propose technical solutions and/or alternatives to requirements not currently integrated into a simulation architecture.

o * Support the selection, implementation, and execution of detailed computer models or alternative analysis tools for assessment, experimentation, concept development, demonstrations, prototyping, and wargames.

o * Develop use cases, user scenarios, concepts of operations, and assist in designing simulation experiments to support modeling and simulation analytics.

  • Develop specified NPES training/exercise scenarios using Hyperion (formerly XSCENE).
  • Provide software configuration control and maintenance of Hyperion (formerly XSCENE) including code updates as required.
  • Develop and transmit message traffic using NPES.
  • Provide exercise M&S controller/role player tasks during exercise/training events.
  • Archive data and maintain historical M&S databases.
  • Schedule, prepare, coordinate, and conduct database/event tests to check the functionality/interface of the event M&S with operational Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I) systems.
  • Draft and submit end-of-month written status report of M&S activities.
  • Coordinate conferences, seminars, symposia, and technology demonstrations.
  • Perform Simulation Coordinator functions for specified exercises/training events to include facilitation of the M&S Working Group at planning conferences, selection of appropriate M&S tools, coordination with internal and external agencies, and conduct of database/system event tests.
  • Support research, test, evaluation, and implementation of existing and emerging hardware and software M&S systems with the potential to improve current simulation capabilities or to stimulate current or near-future operational systems within the USSTRATCOM mission set that are not currently stimulated by simulations during exercise and training events.

Education/Experience:

Candidate must be proficient in one of the following programing languages:

o Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

o Python Programming language.

o Similar programming language approved by the Government

Candidate must have:

  • At least 5 years' experience within the last 7 years in relevant modeling and simulation activities with demonstrated experience in tasks identified in the Qualifications section above.
  • Experience in researching, testing, evaluating, and implementing existing and emerging hardware and software M&S systems with the potential to improve current capabilities.
  • At least 1 year direct experience in Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Space wargame visualizations.
  • At least 5 years’ experience maintaining and operating live, virtual, and constructive modeling & simulation components in a virtualized and federated architecture models (description annotated with an * above)
  • Preferred; current Security+ (plus) certification or be capable of completing the certification within 3 months of start date.

  • TS/SCI security clearance
