Job Summary: The Manager of Operations for Custodial Services insures buildings and facilities receive the highest quality custodial services. It is the vital link in communication with customers, coordinating staff, equipment, specialty crews, and other maintenance departments. Provides planning, scheduling, training, and managed services to the University community. Assures that campus facilities are clean and available for use on a daily basis. This position provides supervision for Custodial Supervisors which involves direct and indirect responsibilities of interviewing and selecting, training and evaluating performance.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and three (3) years paid work experience in a supervisory role with custodial personnel; OR Associates degree and five (5) years paid work experience in custodial services to include at least three years experience in a supervisory role with custodial personnel; OR High school diploma or GED and seven (7) years paid work experience in custodial services to include at least three years experience in a supervisory role with custodial personnel. Supervisory experience to include scheduling staff for shifts and adjustments due to absenteeism. Must be able to lift, handle and maneuver the tools, materials and supplies of the job. Must move and/or drive from site to site. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Managers evaluate level of cleanliness in the buildings which requires walking, climbing stairs, stomping, bending and reaching overhead. Managers train staff on equipment and demonstrate use, therefore must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Final candidates who are not current University of Alabama employees must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.
