To independently employ a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in a particular field of specialization to plan, design, develop and support systems and projects. To conduct research and analysis and presents findings for review. To carry out complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. To have managerial responsibility for the application engineering staff.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead a technical and operational IT support team for the CTMS OnCore system across the UAB campus, including resource planning, coaching, mentoring, professional development and supervision.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for research administration, guiding the effort to support system administrators and end users.
- Plan and manage OnCore and other related research administration systems, including release cycles, upgrades, downtimes and enhancements.
- Build relationships with the larger research community; represent the OnCore team by serving on committees and in other public forums.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
$109,250 - $177,530
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field and eight (8) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Experience with defining, delivering, managing and supporting enterprise-wide information systems.
- Strong knowledge of clinical trials processes, including subject and protocol management, study financials, and billing.
- Experience with an enterprise CTMS system, preferably OnCore
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to set and manage multiple priorities and to lead teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage and/or resolve issues
- Expertise in data management, analysis, visualization, distribution and metrics
- Experience managing customer feedback and monitoring/analysis of user experience
