A DAY IN THE LIFE
As a key member of our team, this role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
  • Analyze acid digestates by ICP or ICP-MS using various published methods
  • Maintain and troubleshoot instruments
  • Prepare standards, dilute samples, calibrate equipment
  • Spectrophotometric analyses
  • Titrations
  • Ion Selective Electrode analysis
  • Development of ICP/MS methods
  • Write and assist the QAC with updating related SOPs
  • Maintain adequate consumables and parts for ICP/MS
  • Maintain inventory of digestion reagents & supplies
  • Lead or assist with projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses
  • Comply with Enthalpy's Quality Assurance Program and other Policies
  • Inform group leaders or peers of their understanding or any situation that is out of compliance
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Manager
  • Comply with Enthalpy's Exposure Control Plan
  • Document all significant events in the measurement process clearly and completely. Significant is meant as any step required to reconstruct the process, to detect an error, or demonstrate substantial compliance to specific procedures. Legible, compliant entries into templates and logbooks to specifications detailed in the SOP for the lab documentation.
  • Obtain from Group Leaders or peers a complete understanding of compliance criteria for the tests, technical training, and procedures they are performing at specific workstations

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field
  • 3 year of relevant experience (academic or professional) preferred
Preferred Skills
  • Experience using and maintaining an ICP-MS or ICP-OES
  • Experience working in a high-paced testing laboratory environment
  • An Analyst I will be able to perform much of their work independently, but needs direction from a Group Leader or more senior analyst to execute most effectively.
  • Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
  • Must be flexible in work schedule (including Saturday) and able to work overtime
  • Well organized and have an attention to detail
  • Good organization and communication skills
