Employment Type : Full-Time

Infectious Disease physician seeking a Medical Scribe candidate interested in gaining experience working one-on-one with a physician in a hospital setting. The scribe’s role is to assist the provider with documentation and charting efficiency. While you will be working in a clinical setting, this is a non-clinical role and scribes will not take part in any direct patient care.

This is a paid and part-time or full-time position, ideal for students, recent graduates, or those potentially seeking a career in healthcare and would like to gain additional clinical exposure. Training will be provided.

Requirements

  • Prior scribing experience is required (at least 6 months is preferred)
  • High school diploma. College degree or currently enrolled in a 4-year-program is highly recommended
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • Approximately 10-12 months commitment
  • This is a part-time or full-time position
  • Must be available to work M-F (approximately 9 am-4pm)
  • Must also be available to work every 3rd weekend when the physician is on call
  • The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and exhibit strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least 2 doses)

Responsibilities

  • Compile the patient list and prepare charts prior to rounding
  • Accompany the physician during patient visits and document history of present illness and physical exams in the EHR (Cerner)
  • Keeping an accurate and updated billing list
  • Maintaining confidential patient information and adhering to hospital policies
