ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains health information record system according to Federal and State requirements.

Participates in assigned meetings and in-services as requested.

Initiates resident health information record.

Initiates and maintains logs and indices as required.

Performs audits as required.

Coordinates physician documentation.

Thins charts and maintains overflow files as required.

Maintains and controls release of information within State, Federal and HIPAA regulations.

Inputs and prints computerized medical records forms.

Prepares statistical reports as required.

Destroys old health records as required.

Assembles, analyzes and completes discharge records.

Reports to the Medical Records Supervisor

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High School diploma.

Strong written and verbal skills in English for business necessity.

Administrative and organizational ability.

Knowledge of medical terminology.

Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Prior health record experience preferred.

Basic computer experience required.

Detail oriented; ability to multi-task and work independently.

Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment.

Presents professional image to consumers and clients through dress, behavior and speech.
