Job Responsibilities:
SUMMARY:
Responsible for receiving and documenting incoming patients. Improve the operations of PCHS in support of its stated mission: provides accessible, affordable, compassionate, quality health care services for our communities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure the confidentiality of patient information. Open new patient accounts and verify patient data, including billing and insurance information. Prepare Electronic Health Record for new patients as well as necessary paperwork for new and established patients. Assist in answering incoming calls transferred from the Patient Service Center or outside providers. Assist in maintaining Electronic Health Records including scanning, filing, retrieving and other record keeping tasks. Prepare cash receipts ledger, calculate client payments, collect fees, balance cash receipts and record adjustments and client charges. Prepare and send no show letters and records release requests as necessary. Confirm next day appointments. Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 in reference to all confidential information obtained through job tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED) and one year related experience or combination of education and experience in health care or related field. CPR certification, medical terminology, basic computer skills, knowledge of health insurances and a valid driver’s license is required.
