As a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) under general supervision, performs complex chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests and analysis of body specimens and fluids in accordance with departmental procedures and regulations stipulated by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act.

What You Need to Be Successful:
  • Associate of Arts degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Biological Sciences or an equivalent Associates Degree with completion of an accredited MLT Program is required.
  • Certification as a registered Medical Laboratory Technician obtained from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists is required or A 12 month period will be allowed during which a new hire must obtain their certification.
  • Must adhere to all regulatory, accrediting, certification and licensure requirements as dictated by UMMS or the profession.
  • Two years of Medical Laboratory experience performing laboratory testing and support duties, or equivalent, are required.
