Job Summary/ Responsibilities: Help operate both administrative and clinical duties to ensure operational clinic flow Clinical: · Patient preparation including; but not limited to recording chief complaint, height, weight, temperature, pulse oximetry, performing EKG and INR · Patient chart preparation and patient room management · Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures · Coordinating and managing patient care · Sanitizing patient rooms and equipment after each visit · Understanding and effective use of Electronic Medical Records ( NextGen preferred) · Medication Ordering · Coordinating and communicating with authorization and scheduling teams · Effectively communicate with patients Administrative: · Greeting patients and visitors in a positive and helpful manner · Perform check-in including; verifying, updating patient information, and collecting co-pays · Performing check-out and scheduling future appointments · Ability to communicate to all staff including surgical and testing coordinators, internal billing and authorization specialists · Knowledge of insurance plans including HMO, PPO, and the VA · Multitasking in fast paced environment · Providing patient instructions for testing Minimum Qualifications: Active Medical Assistant Certification is not required. Medical Assistants are required to have a current CPR/BLS card. Preferred Qualifications: Familiar with NextGen), Bilingual, 2+ years Cardiovascular front and back office experience.
