We are seeking a motivated, full-time Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
- Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
- Pre-screen patients for consultations
- Update and maintain all digital client records and assist in transitioning hard copy records to digital format
- Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
- Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
- Communicate pertinent information to referring physician offices
- Assist in office surgeries
- Record clinical visits between surgeon/physician assistant and patient
- Assist in bandaging/wound care for patients
- Maintain medical inventory and place orders for new materials as needed
- Practice proper sterilization of all instruments
- Maintain HIPAA and OSHA standards
- Schedule surgeries and appointments
- Work with Patient Care Coordinator to ensure smooth transition of patient data
- Be able to discuss financial quotes for services with patient
- Be knowledgeable of all products and services at The Center
- Communicate with patients regarding upcoming procedures, answer patient's clinical questions and provide support during patient recovery

Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in a medical field
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
- At least 1 year of experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital preferred
- Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing documents
- Typing speed of at least 70 WPM
- Experience with EMR
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Inventory management experience
- High level of professionalism
- Familiarity with medical billing procedures
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
