Busy Family Practice seeks a patient-oriented medical assistant to start within 2 weeks. The ideal candidate will be a people person, respectful, must be able to work between out Lithonia and Lawrenceville office, dedicated team player, hard worker, and have a positive attitude.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
-Performs multi-tasked administrative duties to ensure efficient office operations including:
-Pulling/responding to messages from the voice mail
-Scanning all correspondence and attaching them to patient's electronic record
-Attaching all inbound faxes to patients electronic record
-Relaying lab results and physician orders to patients in a professional manner
-Assist Clinical Medical Assistant with triaging and administering injections
-Triaging Patients
-Drawing blood and preparing specimens for lab pick up
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Assists in the basic delivery of patient care as assigned/directed by licensed professional personnel utilizing and integrating age-appropriate standards, knowledge of growth and development, infection control and body substance precautions, patient safety, and body mechanics.
- Utilizes proficient organization and communication skills in prioritizing, delivering, and documenting patient care.
- Supports and participates in continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of care and services provided.
- Understands and complies with infection control, safety, and OSHA procedures and regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited program in medical assisting, nurse assisting, emergency medical technician, or patient care technician.
- One year of experience preferred, including obtaining vitals, assisting clinical staff with patient care, phlebotomy, and specimen collection procedures.
- BLS certification is required.
- EMR experience (preferably Eclinical Works).
- Ability to perform multiple, concurrent tasks in stressful and faced paced environment while maintaining strong internal and external customer service standards.
- Ability to perform clerical duties including greeter reception, scheduling patients, registering patients, answering telephones, faxing and other duties as needed.
- Reflects professional image and possess excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal, and team work skills.
- Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of date of hire.
