Baltimore Medical System is currently offering a sign-on bonus for MAs/CMAs Baltimore Medical System is looking for a Medical Assistant to work at one of our community health center locations. Positions are available at either Belair-Edison, Saint Agnes, Pine Heights, Middlesex, or Highlandtown (depending upon current vacancies). The Medical Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting physicians with patient care, performing appropriate procedures, and preparing rooms & equipment. The MA is also responsible for maintaining records and interacting in a professional, friendly manner with patients & family members, physicians, staff, and visitors. This position is also responsible for clinical process improvement and acts as a coordinator for lab and referral issues. The MA serves as a lead for process improvement teams. The MA may be required to fill some Center Service Representative responsibilities and may be cross trained to cover other positions when needed. Courtesy, respect, friendliness, and tact are required in dealing with customers. The Medical Assistant with at least one year clinical experience and deemed fully competent may be responsible for training new medical assistants as assigned. Hours: M,T,W,F: 8:30am-5:00pm TH: 10am-7pm Essential functions: Required: Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Graduate/certificate of completion from an accredited medical assistant program. A waiver for this requirement may be considered for candidates who have successfully completed a higher level of medical education (e.g., accredited LPN program, however are NOT licensed.) Work Experience: Required: Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant program Preferred: Five years medical assistant experience and CMA or RMA certification.
