The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing patient support and communication and facilitating an exceptional patient experience to build and reinforce satisfaction, trust and drive organizational loyalty. Accountable for welcoming and preparing the patient for their appointment, the Clinical Support Staff informs patients of relevant and required information for their visit, and provides clear communication around the services they are scheduled to receive.
How you can make a difference as a Medical Assistant:

  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by the Physician; performs basic laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated and suture removal and dressing changes
  • Perform medical histories, provide instruction to the patient regarding medications and diet, and authorize prescription refills as directed
  • Prepare patients for examination using Village Medical Rooming Guidelines
  • Perform phlebotomy as ordered
  • Greet patients and answers phones
  • Prepare, clean and maintain exam and treatment rooms, as well as supplies and equipment
  • Monitor controls of CLIA waived tests

Experience to drive change as a Medical Assistant:

  • Medical Assistant Certification or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) required
  • Phlebotomy experience required
  • Must have current BLS certification for healthcare providers through American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Must have High School Diploma
  • Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER preferred
  • Spanish speaking preferred

For Colorado Residents only: The base compensation range for this role is $16.97 to $27.47. At VillageMD, compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. The selected candidate will be eligible for a valuable company benefits plan, including health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and access to a 401k plan with company match.
