The Media Relations Coordinator develops copy and raises public awareness of NKCH and Meritas Health through earned, owned and paid media initiatives. The Media Relations Coordinator is responsible for promoting the brand tone, hospital mission and new services in publications, marketing materials, social media, blogging, e-mail outreach and digital marketing communications. This position is an integral part of the marketing team and reports to the Marketing and Communications Director.
EXPERIENCE: 5 plus years of relevant experience with a focus on healthcare communications and/or public relations.
SPECIAL SKILLS: Excellent verbal, interpersonal, public speaking and presentation skills. Editorial competency: ability to create concise, compelling content and follow AP style. Copy editing skills and attention to detail are imperative. Excellent project management skills and ability to juggle multiple deadlines. Can work in a highly collaborative environment. Must have portfolio of writing samples, including news releases, feature stories, pitch letters, talking points and targeted messages for various media outlets. Understanding of search engine insights that drive content improvements.
EDUCATION: Required: Bachelors - English, Bachelors - Journalism, Preferred: Masters - English, Masters - Journalism
