Position Overview:

We are looking to hire a detailed-oriented, driven, and resourceful Microgrid Mechanical Technician to assume responsibilities for multiple Microgrid generators. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of performing maintenance on power generation equipment with operations experience as a plus. The Microgrid Mechanical Technician will coordinate with the Network Operations Center (NOC) to ensure Enchanted Rock can meet customer requirements for on demand electricity.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Perform skilled repairs of Volvo Penta Diesel Engines (16 L), Power Solutions International (21.9 L) and Marathon generator ends, as well as various voltage control and synchronizing equipment.

· Be proficient at learning and utilizing manufacturer specific software to troubleshoot and diagnose engine and control system problems.

· Facilitate technical support and liaison with equipment manufacturers.

· Perform scheduled, preventive, or predictive generator maintenance tasks.

· Perform troubleshooting and repair tasks.

· Perform periodic inspections to identify maintenance needs.

· Work in potentially confined areas of high heat and humidity, and cold.

· Follow company process and procedures for verbal/written communications.

· Utilize all current technology for communication, documentation, and research.

  • Ensure Safe Operation of electrical equipment by enforcing company and industry standards.

· Additional responsibilities may be added at the direction of Company’s management

Minimum Requirements:

· Experience in generators, diesel and natural gas engines, control systems, electrical and transmission systems.

· Able to read, interpret and execute steps dictated in service manuals, diagnostic equipment, and electrical schematics.

· Strong logical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

· Able to demonstrate and present a high level of professionalism and organization.

· Electrical end troubleshooting and repair skills are a priority.

· Communicate equipment status clearly with the Operations Center.

· Must be able to travel to sites in local area.

· Must be able to travel 2-3 times per year for extended time periods (2-3 weeks; expenses & per diem paid).

· Have working knowledge of engines (exhaust after treatment systems especially helpful).

· Have working knowledge of SCADA systems.

· Ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with other areas to achieve goals and objectives with minimum direct supervision

· Value the importance of safety practices and procedures.

· Must possess standard tools of the trade.

· Must be open to training, direction, and constant learning and improvement.

· Naval Nuclear Power Program experience is a plus.

· A good driving record.

· Lift at least 50 lbs.
