What you will do

Johnson Controls invites you to apply for an internship located in Wichita, Kansas. This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.

How you will do it:

  • Provide analysis support for AHRI and DOE calculations.
  • Provide hands on support for prototype creation.
  • Provide design specification support to laboratory validation testing.
  • Duration: This will be a full-time summer 2021 internship. Local students may have the potential to continue working on projects on a part-time basis during the school year.

What we look for

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering program.
  • Sophomore or Junior level standing
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software.
  • Prior HVAC experience is a plus.
  • FEA (ANSYS) or other structural analysis is a plus.
  • CFD (ANSYS) or other computational fluid dynamic analysis is a plus.
  • Pro-E or other design experience is a plus.
  • Must be local to Wichita, KS, or commutable distance
  • U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Where legally permissible, as a condition of employment, you will be required on your first day of employment, to show written proof that you have been fully vaccinated Against Covid-19 or that you have a valid medical or religious reason for not receiving the vaccine.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills required
