Primary Job Responsibilities: · Maintains pumps, motors, control equipment, electrical panels, lighting, VFD’s, PLC’s, telemetry, sensors, gauges, flow meters, and other equipment used in the water and wastewater industry. · Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment, vehicles, and buildings. · Repair, install, or remove lighting fixtures and components such as ballasts. · This position is expected to work in all departments within the District to provide, mechanical, electrical, painting, remodeling, and building maintenance support wherever it may be needed. · Must perform work in a safe manner utilizing the proper safety equipment and methods. Requirements: · High School diploma or general education degree (GED) · Minimum of four years of experience working in the electrical industry with additional experience in the mechanical field, specifically working on pumps, motors, electrical equipment, communications equipment, testing equipment, and troubleshooting problems. · Supplementary formal or on the job training in instrumentation and process control, PLC’s, VFD’s and pumps/motors is preferred. Hiring Range Widefield Water & Sanitation District has five levels of Operators. Pay ranges depend on certifications, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Pay range and title depend on certifications and experience. The starting range depends on qualifications. $28.43 per hour to $39.19 per hour Eligibility for a signing bonus (The successful candidate could be eligible for a hiring bonus of up to $5000. An initial $2500 payable upon the WWSD’s first regular payroll date following the start date and subject to all applicable tax reporting and withholding requirements. Once the successful candidate has completed the 90-day introductory period, they could be eligible for an additional $2500.)
