Position Overview
The Material Handler II is responsible for reconciling the receipt, storage, and distribution of laboratory components and business supplies. The Material Handler II works directly with the Procurement, Production, and Finance departments to accurately track, record, and maintain the right amount of raw materials and supplies where they're needed.
Responsibilities
- Trains others to perform all work in adherence with SOP's and Regulatory Requirements as needed.
- Performs structured problem solving to identify root causes and corrective actions as needed.
- Investigates Cycle Count Variances.
- Completion of IATA/DOT training within two months of beginning work
- Perform all work in adherence to our standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements such as ISO 13485 and FDA 21CFR Part 820, documenting nonconformances and suggesting improvements as needed
- Accurately, expediently, and safely receive inbound materials
- Check items for damage
- Verify part and lot numbers for accuracy
- Perform transactions within the ERP system (NetSuite)
- Confirm printed information and apply labels
- Prepare packages for outbound shipment
- Maintain an appropriate supply of pre-built shipping boxes
- Package items in accordance with batch records and company best practices
- Reconcile invoices against a shipping log
- Stock laboratories and warehouse areas with components and supplies
- Rotate stock to facilitate first-expiry, first-out practices
- Check for product expiration
- Accurately transact material issuances into and out of the ERP system
- Monitor levels of dry ice on hand, adjusting orders as necessary to minimize waste
- Cycle count materials, investigate variances, and initiate purchase requisitions
- Work with the Finance department to reconcile purchase orders and packing slips
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma/Associates degree
- 1+ year of material handling experience, preferably in a highly regulated environment (GMP, GCLP, GCP, GLP, ISO, etc.) required
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- High attention to detail and ability to adhere to SOP's
- A can-do, customer-oriented attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to collaborate across disciplines

Working Conditions
This position is scheduled for Monday through Friday during typical office hours, however, staggered shifts and/or weekend work may also be required based upon business needs.
Candidates must be able to:
- Stand for extended periods of time,
- Lift objects up to 50 pounds,
- Push and pull wheeled objects up to 800 pounds
- Occasionally work in a walk-in freezer (-25°C/-13°F)
