Job Title: Material Handler

SUMMARY:
This position oversees inventory control, cycle counts, warehouse organization, material receipt and issue transactions, material handling throughout the facility. Ability to process all inventory transactions needed to maintain accurate inventory. Experience in expediting purchase orders, perform follow up calls to vendors.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
    • Perform regular cycle counts to verify proper inventory, reconcile inventory accordingly, set up process and procedures, audit, and manage corrective measures
    • Pull parts per MO order pick list in alignment with production work center work flow and detail schedules,
    • Create pull methods that support needs of various work centers, i.e. kitting, work staging, visual pull, KanBan
    • Perform inventory transactions to issue materials to the appropriate MOs accurately, in a timely manner with resolutions and corrective action, i.e. defective material disposition, etc. on a daily basis
    • Implement, practice, and participate in Lean 5S activities, particularly in a materials environment.
    • Label all parts assigned to shelf locations.
    • Maintain clean and organized warehouse and stock of parts.
    • Transact unplanned material requisition/return to stock materials throughout the month; provide feedback for corrective action accordingly.
    • Support and coordinate yearly inventory.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • Self-check work and inspect prior processes

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Prior inventory control and warehouse experience
  • Ability to operate fork lift, must obtain certification
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines
  • Ability to retain and apply instructions
  • Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to understand and communicate orally and written in English.
  • PC Skills; Windows programs, word & excel, knowledge of ERP and inventory control.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare packages for shipping.
  • Previous Lean experience.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize daily work, maintain daily data transactions to ensure inventory accuracy

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The associate frequently is required to talk or hear. The associate is required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crawl over, under and around equipment. The associate is required to frequently work from a ladder or at heights up to 11 feet off the ground. May be exposed to vibration.

  • The associate must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds frequently, move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • General production environment. The noise level ranges from moderate to loud occasionally. Environment may be warm or cool, depending on weather and other factors.

SCHEDULE:
  • Hours depend on business and department needs. All positions are subject to overtime as needed. Overtime can be scheduled by adding additional days to the scheduled days for the week or by extending the hours worked. See a supervisor for information on overtime worked in a particular department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This job has no supervisory responsibilities. The associate may be asked to assist in the training of new associates on specific duties.
