Specific Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Pull scrap from warehouse as needed to assist forklift drivers
  • Audit resin lines to ensure the room configuration sheet is accurate
  • Access and utilize reports to identify available scrap in the warehouse
  • Follow changeover instructions to accurately move resin lines
  • Accurately changeover blenders to run other materials on the schedule by calculating throughput
  • Accurately change blending percentages on blenders
  • Accurately label materials once ground
  • Accurately process materials according to labels
  • Load and dump grindables
  • Accurately consume product tickets
  • Accurately and correctly complete daily paperwork
  • Accurately identify and separate scrap into correct resin types
  • Clean systems as needed, to include de-dust system, grinder, etc
  • Clear plugged resin lines and contain materials in correct locations
  • Move hoses on railcars following established procedures
  • Accurately diagnose mechanical issues using resin system panel. Adjust valving and settings to alleviate issue.
  • Drain ground materials into Super-Sacks
  • Safely and efficiently operates material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Abides by all Amcor Safety and Quality policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs general housekeeping duties.
  • Assure inventory reporting compliance for audit requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as directed by the Operations Manager.

Education and Experience

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of employment showing steady work history. Previous experience in manufacturing desired.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers.
  • Ability to recognize and understand numbers, values, and enters this information into an on-line database accurately.
  • Ability to visually distinguish fine variations in color and other visual differences.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English in order to communicate with co-workers, read work instructions and job procedures, and document job activities.
  • Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions and independent judgment calls based on the situation at hand.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively use a computer and related software.
  • Ability to demonstrate skills and knowledge necessary to be awarded a forklift certification by Amcor if needed.
  • Must have prior maintenance experience or have exhibited a higher level of mechanical competence.
  • Must maintain a fast pace through the working day and work on multiple tasks
  • Ability to lead self and initiate communication with the warehouse, lead and supervisor

Physical Requirements: This is a medium physical demand job as outlined by the U.S. Department of Labor

  • Incumbent is required to stand/walk for up to 11 hours per shift and is frequently required to do the following;
  • Carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 1000 lbs. 50 feet using a hydraulic hand jack (this is the equivalent of a static push/pull of approximately 70 lbs.).
